My journey started in Wellington at Rydges Wellington, conveniently located in the city center. Walking distance to the waterfront, cafés, and the main station made this hotel ideal for public transport travelers. Early morning light and the overall atmosphere make it a perfect first-night stay. The hotel facilities include a microwave, indoor pool, and fitness center—great for travelers wanting a bit more comfort.

In Taupo, I stayed at Ika Nui Taupo. The calm, lodge-like setting near Lake Taupo slowed down my travel pace in the best way possible. The rooms featured a spacious layout, a kitchenette, outdoor seating areas, and a large refrigerator, making it a wonderful choice for those who enjoy relaxing by the water.

🌋 Rotorua – ibis Rotorua

ibis Rotorua was my base in Rotorua. Close to lake walks and main attractions, this hotel was budget-friendly and well-suited for travelers using public transport. One highlight was access to the thermal spa facilities at the neighboring Novotel. Free laundry service and easy access to the city made it very convenient despite the smaller rooms.

🌆 Auckland – Adina / CityLife Auckland

For my final stop in Auckland, I stayed at either Adina or CityLife Auckland, both centrally located for restaurants, shopping, and transport to the airport. The comfortable and reliable rooms made the end of the trip easy and stress-free. Being within walking distance of Auckland’s main attractions added convenience.
